I was saddened to hear of the death of Lynn Redgrave. She fought a seven year battle with breast cancer. I, too, am a breast cancer survivor of 4 years.
All of us, at some point in our lifetime, will be touched in some way by cancer, whether it be directly or indirectly. If we are not stricken with the disease ourselves, we will know someone who is. I know of so many "someone's" that I have lost count.
I have lost beloved family members and friends to this beast called cancer. Cancer is a beast, all cancers, and we must slay the beasts!

Reflection in the Mirror
Where is the young girl that once lived here? I don’t see her face anymore in the image that looks back at me from the mirror, but I still feel her presence. The essence of her lingers, and lives in my heart and in my mind like a ghost drawing its breath, its life, from the very center of my being.
No longer seen in the mirror, her image now resides in photographs taken long ago. The young girl in the old photos has grown into the person that I now see reflected in the mirror. She and I are the same, but yet different. One has evolved into the other.
Time has brought about physical, mental, and emotional changes, as it should be and is necessary. However, the essence of who we are, that particular spiritual trait given to us by our Heavenly Father that makes us unique, remains the same.
